Summer is all about relaxing, having a good time, and spending time with friends and family. When staying in Billings MT this summer, check out all of these fun opportunities you can explore in this exciting city!

First up, take the family on a trip to the zoo! This year, ZooMontana is offering the Summer Camp program that lasts for one week during half of the day every day of the week. Get the rare opportunity to get close with animals and learn about them as well! You’ll determine how all kinds of animals survive out in the wild and what their natural habitats are. The camps are divided into various groups by age. They are ages 4-5, ages 6-8, and ages 9-11. Registration is $100 for the whole week. Sign up your kids now! If summer camp isn’t something you want to do, the zoo is always open to visitors! Walk around the zoo with your family and see all the animals and reptiles that are here! Children 2 years and under get in FREE. Children ages 3-15 get in for $4, and adults are only $7. Parking is completely FREE! Summer hours for the zoo are 10am-4pm, Monday through Sunday. One thing to do while at the zoo is to visit the Animal Encounter – the opportunity to get up close to one animal as an animal handler educates you about the specific animal. It is a short 15-minute presentation and costs $30.

If the zoo isn’t for you and your family, then check out The Reef – the largest indoor water park in all of Montana! Escape the heat at The Reef, which is as big as a whole football field! At The Reef, the entire family is sure to have fun. There’s a playhouse with a 250-gallon water dumping bucket, two three-story slides, a smaller slide for younger children, a wave pool and more! For adults, there’s a 25-person hot tub, a café, and Sundry shop. If you come Monday through Friday, admission is $10. From Saturday through Sunday, the fee is $12.95 if you’re under 48” and $14.95 if you’re over 48”. If you enter after 4 pm, admission is $10.

If you’re looking for a whole other type of adventure, then saddle up for your next adventure at Bitter Creek Outfitters! Discover the beauty of Montana with a guided tour as you leisurely ride through the countryside – all while on horseback! They even offer opportunities for families with younger children (9 years old and under). No experience necessary, but reservations are required.
