This year, the Holiday Spectacular has the honor of inviting Doug LaBrecque, a Broadway superstar, to join the choral performance at the Alberta Bair Theater. Doug LaBrecque is perhaps best known for his fantastic roles of playing The Phantom as well as Raoul in the production of The Phantom of the Opera by Harold Prince productions. He also performed Hal Prince in the revival of Showboat and had toured nationally with the hit musical Les Miserables. Other plays that he has had lead roles include A Chorus Line, Candide, Man of LaMancha and many others. His beautiful tenor voice has allowed him to perform with some of the world’s finest symphony orchestras. Some of these include The Chicago Symphony, The National Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, The San Francisco Symphony, and The Atlanta Symphony, among others.
The Billings Symphony Orchestra and Chorale was founded in May of 1951, and its mission is to enrich the lives of others through the gift of music. Anne Harrigan is the musical director, and the orchestra and choir consist of over 135 talented musicians. Other events that will be performed this season include two performances of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic, Nutcracker Ballet; Top Brass, a special chamber concert, and a New Year’s Eve show.
