NILE is short for the Northern International Livestock Exposition. The NILE Rodeo is one of the first qualifying rodeos for professional cowboys. In addition, the NILE event features stock shows with cattle breed shows and sales. The NILE event also hosts horse sales.

2021 NILE Stock and Rodeo Events

Horses

The NILE Rodeo Billings MT 2021 is jam-packed with events and fun. Watch horse shows and races. Be amazed at the skills shown during the rodeo, or encourage young kids to show off their cowboy skills.

AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge‍

This event allows horse owners to show their American Quarter horses, participate in challenges, and win prize money.

Runnin' the Rims Barrel Race‍

During the exciting, crowd-favorite barrel races, contestants attempt to run a cloverleaf pattern around barrels. This is an excellent opportunity for riders to show off their impressive skills.

Versatility Ranch Horse Show‍

The Versatility Ranch Horse Show demonstrates working ranch horse's diverse abilities in five classes: ranch trail, ranch riding, ranch reining, ranch conformation, and ranch cow work. Riders can enter the open, amateur, youth, or cowboy divisions.

The NILE Colt Classic‍

Legendary trainer Bill Oliver will work with colts, show these impressive young horses in action, and offer the colts for sale during the show.

The NILE Ranch Rodeo‍

The NILE Ranch Rodeo is a highlight event. Contestants are working cowboys who hone their skills on the ranch every day. Teams of four or five cowboys compete in Ranch Bronc Riding, Team Branding, Wild Cow Milking, Team Doctoring, and Team Trailering.

The Ranch Rodeo is a finals rodeo. Therefore, teams who reach the NILE Ranch Rodeo have already won in regional events. After the rodeo, check out the popular Dance in the Dirt event. Kyle Shobe and the Walk them Boys will entertain with a concert, while attendees are invited to dance in the dirt.

High School Rodeo Showcase‍

Montana High School student-athletes will show off their rodeo skills during this showcase. High school athletes will compete against professionals in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, bull riding, and barrel racing.

‍Livestock Evaluation Contest‍

Cows

Young 4-H and FFA members are invited to take part in Livestock Evaluation Contests. The day begins with a delicious pancake breakfast. Then, contests get to work. Students will learn to evaluate and select cattle, sheep, and swine in the Livestock Judging Contest.

In the Sales & Service Contest, young cowboys and cowgirls can show off their selling skills. A designated item or service will be listed for sale, and kids can practice their communication skills, persuasiveness, and negotiation skills.

NILE Merit Heifer Program‍

Students between 12 and 16 can raise their heifer for one year and show it during the NILE event. This event focuses on helping young cowboys and cowgirls grow their herds.

Junior Fed Market Shows‍

Kids between the ages of 8 and 18 can show their steers, lambs, pigs, and goats for sale during this show.

Jr. Breeding Shows‍

Young cowboys will exhibit different breeds of cattle and get the chance to show off their prized animals.

The NILE Stock and Rodeo runs from October 15th - 23rd, 2021. This event is guaranteed to make you smile and leave you with an immense appreciation of the skills needed to be a professional cowboy.
