Magic City Blues is celebrating its 21st year of this fabulous annual festival. Thousands of music fans from across the country gather to enjoy amazing music, a wonderful community and welcoming hospitality. This year, the festival takes place on August 5th and 6th at the world-class MetraPark.

The Magic City Blues Music Festival is “The Party of the Summer!” The music festival features over a dozen bands. The festival is family-friendly, and everyone is welcome to enjoy this iconic summer event. The Blues Music Festival is one of Billings’ and Montana’s most anticipated events. The 2022 festival has an incredible line-up, including rock and roll greats Lynyrd Skynyrd.

This year’s line-up is bigger and better than ever. Guests can immerse themselves in the world’s best blues music. The line-up includes Lynyrd Skynyrd, Whiskey Myers, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and Shane Smith & The Saints. In addition, you can rock out to Amythyst Kiah, Robert Finley, Jon Cleary, and more.

On Friday, August 5th, the festival features musical acts across three stages. Check out 49 Winchester, Shane Smith & The Saints, and King Solomon Hicks on the Cape Air Stage. On the Budweiser Stage, check out Laurie Morvan Band, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and Whiskey Myers. In addition, Jon Cleary will be playing at the TDS Fiber Piano Bar.

The music continues on Saturday, August 6th. Jon Clearly will be performing at the TDS Fiber Piano Bar. Catch performances by The Soul Funk Collective, Eddie 9V, and Amythyst Kiah on the Cape Air Stage. On the Budweiser Stage, don’t miss the Ben Rice Band, followed by Robert Finley. The festival ends with a spectacular performance by international superstar Lynyrd Skynrd.

Festival Details

Montana Pavilion at MetraPark

On Friday, August 5th, and Saturday, August 6th, the doors open at 4:30 P.M., and the music starts at 5:30 P.M. The festival events take over three stages. One stage is in the Montana Pavilion Building, and the other two stages are outdoors.

The event will continue rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather. There are some picnic tables and bleachers, or guests can bring a camp chair or lawn chair to the festival. Handbags will be inspected, and guests may be patted down or wanded to ensure security.

Outside food and drink are not permitted. However, there will be food and refreshment vendors on-site during the festival.

Garbage Can Art Festival

During the festival, 12 local artists will transform 31 garbage cans into works of art. The artists will glue, cut, weld, twist, and paint to create unique artworks. The artists will create their designs live during the festival, and festival-goers are welcome to watch the artworks come together. The finished creations will be auctioned Saturday, August 6th.
